Can’t Find The Hoodie You Want? Why Not Get A Custom Printed Hoodie Instead!

Looking for a particular kind of design on a hoodie but can’t see to find anything like it or the high street or online? Well if you’ve got a decent bit of computer art software like Photoshop (or alternatively use a free piece of software like Gimp), and have a few creative bones in your body then you can quite easily get the exact look that you’re going for thanks to the huge number of custom hoody printers available to you online.

But how do you know which one to go for? Well that’s down to a number of factors which include:

  • Money – The budget you have for your hoodie will definitely affect who you can choose to go with, because whilst larger printers will tend to equate to better quality, they will also tend to be a whole lot more expensive
  • Quantities – Unless you’re planning to sell your custom designed hoodies to friends and family, it’s likely you’re only going to want to buy one – this will limit your options as many of the big printers out there will only accept multiple orders as opposed to singular ones.
  • Fabric – There’s a big focus on using organic cotton and Fairtrade source these days. If this is something you’re passionate about then you will need to shop around as the standard hoodies on offer from most printers won’t necessarily have Fairtrade credentials or be organic.
  • Quality – Whilst you could get lucky and find a super cheap printer that offers top notch printing, the reality is that it’s likely the less you pay, the lower the quality is going to be, so my advice would be if you’re on a budget keep that design simple, as it’s only really when intricate detailing comes into play that these weaknesses are going to be really visible.

Who Can You Find To Print Your Custom Hoodie Online?

The Professionals: Indigo Clothing

indigo

One of the biggest names in customised clothing in the UK is Indigo Clothing, and it’s for good reason  – these guys not only offer great value for money, but also don’t limit you on choice with 9 different styles on offer, and prices starting from just £9.30 (excluding VAT).

However it is important to note that whilst this price does sound amazing, it isn’t all it seems, as this is the actual price you would pay per hoodie if you bought 100. If you’re buying one, then prices are going to start at £11.55.

And that’s still not the final price. Once you’ve let them know you only want one, you will then need to let them know where you want the print (will it just be on the front? On the front and back? Or front, back and arm?), how many colours it’s going to be, whether you want it to be printed via a Spot technique (best for solid or block colours) or a Process technique (the best option if it’s a design with gradients, shading or photos) and the colour of the hoody.

Add all this info, and at the most basic level you’ll come up with a price of £13.05 – still a bargain but definitely not the £9.30 you may have first imagined!

The Online Printers : Spreadshirt

If you’re a bit nervous about getting all the designing right, and want to keep it as simple as possible, then using an online printer like Spreadshirt is a great option. Offering just under 150 different products, including a good range of pull over and zip up hoodies, this site allows you to design your hoodie directly on the site itself, and allows you to just use text to make up the design, or alternatively upload your design and position it how you want.

On top of this they also offer flexibility in terms of how the style of the print, with Flex print, Flock Print and even glittery Special Flex Print all on offer.

The only downside to this user friendly interface and range of options is that it causes the price to rise – a basic pull over hoodie was coming out at £20.90. However when you consider most designer hoodies tend to cost £40+ and this is a unique item it’s still great value for money.

Disclaimer: Whilst I know of people who have used both services I haven’t used them myself so would really recommend you do a bit of research first to see what other people thought of their products before ordering. I did a quick browse and found the following posts that are worth checking out:
